This experiment is based on these two phenomena, in this experiment we will obtain a image as the result of the diffraction which is the ability of waves to bend around obstacles, at the same time the interference will take place in this experiment, which means the rays of light will cancel or reinforce each other while they interact.

For this experiment we will be using the same software developed for the Newton rings, with this software we will be using the webcam to acquire the images and analyze the distance between each constructive light.

With the data obtained with the HP TabletPC the student will be able to calculate the wave length of the laser, Also they will compare the experimental results with the theory results found previously to the experiment.
The students will be able to use the principle of Babinet to measure the thickness of an hair with a very small error rate, this will be achieved by knowing the distance between the hair and the screen, the separation between each constructive pattern (using the Hp tablet PC) and the wave length of the laser.
